JG Engineering were involved with the earthworks, working alongside Walters UK along a 4 km section of the A1 Birtley to Coal House. The project involved the checking, controlling and surveying of formation layers prior to stone placement and trimming the top of the subbase, checking and surveying the subbase prior to tarmac placement on the A1. JG Engineering were also involved in the management of GPS controlled machines, ensuring they had the most recent model and were working correctly. JG Engineering were also involved with the management of stockpile quantities around the project.
